History of the Farm

blueberries in bush

Previously known as Stowe Hollow Nursery, or to many a local, Zuber’s blueberry farm, Walt Zuber, a local dentist, planted his first 200 blueberry bushes in 1980 in the converted horse pastures surrounding his Stowe home.

Over the years, Walt experimented with different fruit plants and different blueberry varieties, eventually landing on the hardiest of blueberry varieties for his particular Vermont soil and the local climate – Blue Crop, Blue Ray, and Patriot Blueberry – and expanded beyond his initially small collection to more than 5,000 bushes.

Self-picking blueberries at this rural destination has been a long standing tradition for many a generation in Stowe, and now a new generation, with Kerry Sedutto and her family at the helm, have purchased the farm in 2019 to start new traditions.
